Course Objective

To empower participants with essential data analytics skills using Microsoft Excel, and optionally Power BI, to analyze, visualize, and interpret data for effective, data-informed decision-making. The course strengthens statistical thinking, analytical techniques, and real-world problem-solving using practical tools and case studies.

Course Introduction

In today’s data-driven world, understanding how to read, interpret, and leverage data is no longer a specialized skill—it’s a core capability. This hands-on course is designed for beginners and professionals alike who want to build a solid foundation in data analytics. Using Microsoft Excel as the primary tool, participants will learn the fundamentals of data handling, basic statistical analysis, and visualization techniques. As the course progresses, learners will explore advanced Excel functions, get introduced to forecasting methods, and optionally dive into Power BI to build interactive dashboards. Real-life case studies and group projects ensure practical application of concepts across industries like manufacturing, engineering, healthcare, and business operations.

Course Summary

The “Introduction to Data Analytics” course offers a two-tiered structure:

  • Day 1–2 (Foundational): Participants learn the essentials of data analytics using Excel, including how to clean, explore, and visualize data using formulas, charts, and basic statistics.
  • Advanced Modules (Optional Add-on): Those opting for deeper learning will explore statistical thinking, forecasting, advanced Excel techniques, and Power BI for data modeling and dynamic dashboard creation.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Grasp the core principles of data analytics
  • Use Excel to manipulate, analyze, and visualize data
  • Interpret patterns and trends for smarter decision-making
  • Apply forecasting and statistical techniques to real-world scenarios
  • Present data insights clearly through dashboards and reports

This course is ideal for professionals across functions—engineering, quality, supply chain, or business analysis—who are ready to unlock the power of data for everyday decision-making.
